Family Dental Practice is your one stop for all your dental care needs, including orthodontic treatment. Dr. Will is a general dentist with extensive training in orthodontics. If you have children who need braces, or if you are looking for an adult orthodontic option that won’t disrupt your lifestyle, we have several bite correction and teeth straightening options available.
Clear aligner teeth straightening has taken the orthodontic world by storm. The major apprehension about brackets and wires is their disruption to daily functions and oral hygiene. However, clear aligner therapy removes many of the barriers traditional braces present. We make different brands of clear aligners available to our patients. While there are slight differences, the process, benefits, and outcomes are similar.
Crooked teeth
Maybe you have a few teeth that bother you. If they were just a bit straighter, you’d really love your smile. Clear aligner therapy gently shifts teeth into proper position without brackets and wires.
Open bite
If your teeth don’t touch in the front when you bite down, you have something called ‘open bite’. This issue can often be corrected with clear aligners. Each case is different, so be sure to schedule a consult with the doctor if you have open bite.
Crossbite
Crossbite refers to the bottom teeth closing inside the upper teeth on one side or the other. It can make eating difficult. Crossbite can often be corrected with clear aligners.
Overbite
If your upper teeth close over your bottom teeth with a wide gap between, we may be able to close the gap with clear aligners.
Underbite
If your bottom teeth close in front of your upper teeth you have what’s called ‘underbite’. Clear aligners are a worry-free way to shift the teeth into proper bite position.
Gap teeth
Do you have gaps between your teeth? If you are self-conscious about gap teeth, clear aligner therapy can close the gaps for a beautiful smile.
Overlapping teeth
If your teeth overlap proper cleaning can be difficult. You may also dislike the way overlapped teeth appear when you smile. If this sounds like you, we can help with clear aligners.
We offer our patients two different types of clear aligner therapy. Both options have been thoroughly vetted by our professional team and we have seen patient after patient happy with their results. Even with the myriad do-it-yourself or mail-order options currently filling your social media feeds, Family Dental Practice wants you to know the importance of having your orthodontic care be supervised by a trained professional. Both Invisalign® and ClearCorrect™ are trusted brands for clear aligner therapy.
Depending on the severity of your case, you will fit into one of four Invisalign treatment options. Each level is varies by number of aligners needed over the course of treatment, which ranges anywhere from seven aligners to an “unlimited” number. Invisalign has the longest, most consistent track record of success in the clear aligner business. Family Dental Practice trusts the Invisalign methodology, products, and process–and we’re excited to offer this option to you.
Invisalign begins with a consultation. We will discuss if the procedure is right for you. Then, we will develop a course of treatment based on your desired result. We send a series of 3D images to the Invisalign lab where your series of clear aligners are crafted before you come in for your first aligner fitting. You will wear your aligners 22-24 hours of the day and remove them to eat, drink and brush your teeth.
Invisalign plastic is durable and BPA-free.
The ClearCorrect process is similar to that of Invisalign, but ClearCorrect offers 3 treatment levels: one with a series of six aligners, one with a series of 12, and an unlimited package. ClearCorrect aligners are slightly thinner than the Invisalign aligners. Some patients prefer the thinner version, but it is also more susceptible to breaking or cracking.
The ClearCorrect process begins with a consultation where we discuss your smile goals and custom-design a treatment plan for you. We then take a series of images, send them off to a lab, and your ClearCorrect aligner series is crafted and sent back. You will wear aligners for a series of weeks for 22-24 hours per day during treatment. Aligners are removed to eat, drink and brush your teeth.

Classic braces are a tried-and-true method for straightening teeth. There are several components to braces: the brackets, which are small metal pieces bonded to the outside of the teeth; the archwire that runs through the brackets and is secured by ligatures or elastics; and the metal band that wraps around the back molars. Elastics are often attached to hooks from the molar to increase pressure on the teeth and accelerate the straightening process.
Braces have become a rite of passage for many teens and offer parents predictable, affordable results. We love to see the straight smiles of our patients the day they get their braces off!
